David Rodriguez Jr.
Vice President, Research and Development
With more than 20 years’ experience in consumer packaged goods, foodservice, and manufacturing, David oversees product development, packaging development, and regulatory affairs at Ajinomoto Foods North America Inc. His leadership helps drive the innovative and robust product pipeline for all channels at our company.
David began his career by creating and commercializing more than 20 products for the newly launched brand, José Olé. He joined Specialty Brands Inc. in 1999 as an Associate Food Scientist in the R&D department. Through several acquisitions, David has continued to grow his R&D career, earning promotion to Vice President of Research and Development in 2013.
Throughout his career he continued to drive new product development for all three national company brands: José Olé, Ling Ling, and Tai Pei.
David earned a BS in biology from the University of California, Riverside. He is passionate about food and seeing new ideas come to life, and loves to cycle, golf, cook, and spend time with his family. He and his wife, Jahna, have two daughters and reside in Orange County, California.
