Chairman, President and CEO
As the highest ranking officer of Ajinomoto Foods North America Inc., Haruo is responsible for the overall performance of the company. He also partners with the other executives as liaison for parent company, Ajinomoto Co. Inc.
Haruo began his Ajinomoto career in Japan in 1980. Since that time, he has served in various positions of increasing responsibility within the company.
In 1989, Haruo became the Manager of Processed Food Business for Ajinomoto USA Inc. Following a transfer back to Japan to join the Frozen Foods Department in 1994, Haruo moved to Portland, Oregon, to became President of Ajinomoto Frozen Foods USA Inc. in 2005. Over the next six years, he strengthened the foundation of the frozen food business in the US market.
In 2011, Haruo became Senior Vice President of Ajinomoto North America Inc., where he successfully integrated Ajinomoto North America Consumer Foods Division, Ajinomoto Frozen Foods USA and Windsor Foods. Haruro was promoted to his current position at the helm of the company in 2015.
Haruo is a 1980 graduate of Keio University, Faculty of Economics. He received his MBA from Texas A&M University in 1987.
